Law Enforcement Memorial Prayer
Dear Lord, law enforcement is not an easy task to do,
Yet there are many who choose to wear the shield.
They serve each day, to the oaths they swore are true,
Protecting and serving, a safer, better world to build.
Lord, now we gather to pay our deepest honor,
To one of ours, an officer killed in the line of duty.
It matters not the style of shield they wore,
Only that they served with pride, and honorably.
Lord, all that matters is that they were one of us,
Serving wherever needed, rich mansion to dirtiest alleys.
Confident and proud, highly honored by the people's trust,
So they carried a shield, mindful of all their sacred duties.
Lord, you have called one of us home to glory,
The riace with life for this one is now done.
Peace, blessed peace, in safety, forever now with Thee,
Welcome rest, now in heaven for all of eternity.
May time never erase the sacrifice that was made,
May no officer ever fall alone, to lie cold in their grave.
May those of us still serving remember well the price they paid,
May their memory stand forever as one who went down brave.
Lord, give us courage to carry on, to still live and care,
To not be vengeful or bitter, to simply trust your word is true.
May we always cover with pride the shields we wear,
To honor all fallen officers, whom we now commend to you.

A Policemans Prayer
Dear Lord, be with me on my beat this day and everyday.
Grant that each weary block I walk May ease my brothers way.
Let me be kindly to the old, and to the young be strong,
but let me triumph over those whose acts are cruel or wrong.
And when my own last summons comes and I stand in Your Court
Lord may my rest with you be long, and my Punishment be short.

A Police Officers Prayer
LORD, I ask for courage
Courage to face and
conquer my own fears...
Courage to take me where others will go...
I ask for strength
Strength of body to protect others,
and strength of spirit to lead others...
I ask for dedication
Dedication to my job, to do it well
Dedication to my community
to keep it safe...
And please, LORD, through it all,
be at my side...

Simple Performance of Duty

In the simple performance of duty,
he pinned on a badge,
checked his gear with a practiced eye,
and kissed his loved ones good-bye.

In the simple performance of duty,
he reported for work,
joked with his buddies at roll call,
and made his last trip down the squadroom hall.

In the simple performance of duty,
he answered the call
to help the helpless, to find the lost,
no matter the danger or how great the cost.

In the simple performance of duty,
he lay down his life,
for those in peril he tried to save,
our brave friend went to his grave.

In the simple performance of duty,
we honor his deed,
as we carry him to rest in a flag-draped casket,
long after the world has forgotten, we shall never forget.
Never judge or regret, what he did,
In the simple performance of duty.
